Michael V. Mirkin教授简介:

MICHAEL V. MIRKIN received the B.S./M.S. in chemistry (1982) and Ph. D. in electrochemistry from Kazakh State University (former USSR). He had been a Research Associate at the Chemistry Department of the same University from 1987 to 1989. He did his postdoctoral research at The University of Texas at Austin (A. J. Bard's group) from 1990 to 1993 and then joined the faculty of Queens College - City University of New York, where he currently is a Professor of Chemistry.

His professional interests are in application of electrochemical methods to solving problems in physical and analytical chemistry and include charge-transfer reactions at solid/liquid and liquid/liquid interfaces, electrochemical kinetics, and nanoelectrochemistry. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers (including Science, JACS etc.) and chapters. During the last several years he has been involved in theoretical and experimental development of scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM), applied this method to study various chemical structures and processes on the nanoscale, and co-edited the first monograph on SECM (second edition, 2012) and a monograph on nanoelectrochemistry (2015). In 2013, he was Invited Visiting Professor at Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris, France.
